Doppelbock Quintet @ Weingarten

Doppelbock began a few years ago as a last-minute replacement band for the Leavenworth Oktoberfest. They have since been surprising and entertaining Oktoberfest audiences throughout Oregon and Washington. Blending the traditional German/Polka/Yodeling sound of Doug Stickler and his accordion, with long-time Johnny Limbo and the Lugnuts guitarist Rouke van der Veen’s rock and roll roots, they created what some call Polka Rock. Completing the sound are Lugnut luminaries Matt Kenney on bass and Jim Parker on drums, with standout saxophone work from Brian McDonald. Their goal is to boldly go where no accordion has gone before.

Gruber Family Band – sponsored by NW Natural @ Weingarten
Sep 12 @ 1:45 pm – 3:15 pm

Chardon Polka Band @ Weingarten
Sep 12 @ 3:30 pm – 5:00 pm
Chardon Polka Band @ Weingarten

They were so great, we all said, “how do we get them back next year?”  The Chardon Polka will be bringing their best to Mt. Angel. Upbeat music and great fun old polka delivered in a not so traditional style.

The traditional Polkas sometimes morph into hip-hop/rock renditions of the same songs.  Some comedic renditions of oddball favorites, bizarre audience participation songs, and even polka-rock covers of anything from Twisted Sister’s “We’re Not Gonna Take It” to Queen’s “Fat Bottomed Girls” to Lady Ga Ga’s “Bad Romance”!

The Weingarten and Biergarten just won’t be the same after this…

Gordanaires European Musik @ Weingarten
Sep 12 @ 5:15 pm – 6:45 pm

A family band performing in Mount Angel for many years. Catch their Old World music; cowbells, alphorns and of course accordion, all performed with an upbeat style. The add some traditional dancing for a great all-around show.
